Application Process
Once you have completed your CCW1 Course, take your training affidavit to your county Sherriff's Department to apply for your permit.
Sherriffs are permitted to charge a fee of no more than $100 to process a permit application or $50 to process a renewal. Please verify the exact fee and accepted methods of payment with your county's sherriff.
Boone County Residents - Start Your Application Online!
The Boone County, Missouri Sheriff's Department has developed a page on their website which allows Boone County residents to begin the application for a permit online. Boone County residents may also apply online to renew their existing permit. Although applicants still need to go to the Sheriff's Department to sign their applications, pay the fees, and get fingerprinted, this is a huge time saver for the applicant.
